As a fellow business owner and creative with over a decade’s worth of experience, I have developed a unique appreciation for the work that goes into a truly effective visual identity.
Chances are, if you’ve thought about having a branding session or have just had one, you’re planning on using your new photos in social media posts and on your website. Today’s blog post is going to show you a perfect example of a business that planned ahead and has been so creative in how they’ve used they’re branding photos on their website.
Your brand’s visual identity plays a pivotal role in attracting and engaging your audience. Branding photos are more than just pictures; they are powerful tools that communicate your brand’s story, values, and personality. To maximize their impact, you have to know what you plan to use them for before you ever have your session. And don’t worry, I’m here to help you every step of the way!
Jessica and Jamie are a perfect example of how to use branding photos. We knew the images would be used for social media (they each have their own account) and for a refresh to their website. The business that they run together, Workflows for Tax Pros, needed a refresh and content that would flow with their branding.
With that in mind, we set out to choose locations that would offer a variety of looks. Jamie and Jessica did their part in bringing multiple outfits changes. One key aspect of everything working together was color. We wanted to be sure that backgrounds and wardrobe would look right with their branding. Because after all, branding is more than just a logo and two or three colors put together. Branding includes colors, imagery, fonts used, the story you’re telling and the voice you tell that story in.
These ladies are fun, empowering and professional, so their brand and these images needed to reflect that.
These photos are taken directly from the Workflows for Tax Pros website. It’s a perfect example of what happens after the branding photos are taken and how to use them once they are delivered to you.
High-quality photos of your products or services in action can significantly boost your social media marketing efforts. Showcase them in a variety of settings to appeal to different segments of your audience. Use close-ups to highlight details, and lifestyle shots to show how your products can be integrated into everyday life. This not only enhances visual appeal but also helps potential customers envision using your products.
Using images of yourself in your social media posts will help people get to know you and remember to associate you with the product that you are trying to sell. Jamie does a great job of this in her own Instagram. I love seeing how she has used her branding photos. Want to know what I love even more? How much more professional her social media feed looks compared to what it used to look like. (and yes, I’m including a photo of that too!) Notice how in a 9 image grid you see her in 4 different outfits? Those were all taken on the same day but you would never know, as opposed to the “before” image, where she has the same shirt on in every image.
Compared to before branding photos..
